Food Styling
One of the things that sets Alamo Drafthouse apart from other movie theaters is the food, and our food photography has to be able to showcase that effectively. From directing photographers, to styling food, to developing color stories, I led our team to put together assets that look real tasty. Just don’t scroll through this page on an empty stomach.
Food That Tells a Story
We’re not just trying to make our food and drinks look delicious; we also want them to feel harmonious with the movies we’re promoting. From the culinary team’s themed specials to the design team’s color stories and food styling, we’ve created assets that are both enticing and evocative.
Making Beige Appetizing
Let’s face it, kids like a lot of beige food. It tastes great, but it photographs… not so great. In these instances, I worked to find opportunities for color wherever I could, from plates, to utensils, to side dishes.
Keep It Movin’
Because I can’t help myself, I often try to find ways to create little moments of micro-storytelling. Fun animations for some of our digital assets bring food to life.
Core Menu Photos
Along with highlighting our themed specials, I also wanted to ensure that we had high-quality photos of our core menu. Working hand-in-hand with our photographer and culinary team, I directed and styled these photos, which have been showcased everywhere from digital ads to highway billboards.
